Hey OneSelfers!!!!

This year has been a major roller coaster for me. I had so major ups and roughly some major lows throughout the year. I really want to start out with my lows and work my way to my great moments in life. Over the year you have watch, read and like what I have been doing: EXPRESS OneSelf! I want to thank you for being in this crazy adventure with me to be your true authentic self not only for me but for you as well! Let's get started!

Lows

  1. Job Search Continues: Still no job. I still work two jobs but is looking for that one job that would give me that flexibility to do more blogging and have time to actually sit down and do some writing for my novels (don’t give up on your dreams).

  2. Lost of A Friend: I lost a good friend about 3 weeks ago. This was so sudden and it hit as all very hard. Only God knows why He called my friend Dominque home. She would light up a room. I’m going to miss her so much. She wrote me a letter a few years ago that I still have. I’m thankful for her words, smile, laughter and so much more. She even followed my blog so she was indeed a OneSelfer.

  3. Post Grad Life: Its so hard. I’m learning that I am not alone and that I can beat this cycle. No better job, can’t into grad school…. This I something that they don’t teach you in college.

  4. FAB by JoJo: Friends come a go, but I need to learn that they are only there in your life for your shoulder or their needed and not theirs. Yet I understand that everybody has a life. Maybe this is a sign to get rid of the FABs and keep pushing on.

Highs

  1. Music & Concerts: I got to attend many concerts this year, if it was in person or through the internet. I got see Craig David twice and he read my letter and wrote me back (oh and I got picture with him). I got to finally see my girl JoJo in concert for the first time and it was meet and greet! She is so down to earth and she answer one of my questions during Q&A. Got to attend my first Latin concert which was Prince Royce (That you Mary Castro- the best First Lady of my alta mater Fresno State) and See Janet Jackson too! I also to listen and become fans of new artist like Keisha Renee, Stanaji, Kehalni JP Cooper, etc.

  2. Taking Solo Trips: I learned it was okay to take solo trips even when your by yourself or your friends are busy. Those are the times where you can do whatever you want but also get to sit with your thoughts and really think over where you are at in life. Even during solo trips you get to meet people and have an amazing time.

  3. Learning About Myself: I learned a lot about myself. I learned that I do need to ask for help even when you think you don’t need it. Keep doing so. People may not want to listen or ignore you but, keep getting everybody attention. I think that helped with letting people know that I was hurting in some of my “Low moments”. I also even wore a two piece bathing suit to the beach. Take about confidence!

  4. Making Friends: I actually made some friends. I do a lot of things by myself so when I do solo trips to concerts or getaways I make new friendships from different cities and states. I even made a friend off of Bumble. That’s how you can break out of those small bubbles we have to express yourselves and the strangers that we meet, we click with the most.

I felt like everything balance out this year. But I know I had some more good vibes though. I hope and pray that 2018 will be my year for some major changes in my life, physically, mentally and spiritually. I want so much better for my life and I know I can obtained it if I let myself accept the opportunities in and go out on faith. Be safe out tonight OneSelfers! I pray to see you all in the New Year
