Valentine/Singlentine’s Day At Hone For One
Valentine’s Day, the one day out of the year where people all over the world spread love and cheers for the people that they love so dearly. It can be with couples, friends (Galentine), and singles alike. But what happens if you are spending it alone, just like me. Well, I can tell you that you can make it all about you with a day full of love sick puppies.
Being single on Valentine ’s Day can be a curse but also a blessing in disguised. Thing about it, you don’t have to make a reservation to your favorite restaurant, buy that fancy dress to wear and your saving money on buying a gift (keep that for your next travel adventure!). How do you spend Valentine’s Day on the low and single.
Take Out
If you don’t want to cook, why don’t you call your favorite place (that does take out) and pick up your dinner. I know usually on Valentine’s Day Pizzeria’s have heart shape pizzas or Mexican restaurants are doing heart shape tacos in a box. There are options out there.
For me I did some Chinese takeout from Wak Kitchen. They are located on the corner of 1st and Barstrow here in Fresno. Just love their orange chicken and fried rice. Like seriously I can eat their egg rolls (6 pieces) and get pull off of them. They are not made like your traditional egg rolls, they are big and huge.
Make Your Own Dessert
Instead of buying the grocery store’s chocolate covered strawberries, why don’t you make your own. It’s a fun way, if
you are with your boo, friends or alone with me, myself and I. This is a great way to be creative, have fun and eat your project when it’s complete. Make your IG, FB, Twitter and SnapChat gets some love over your creations. I have fun making chocolate covered strawberries, cookies and pretzel bark. I had fun decorating and just being creative. Even though I made a lot (which I don’t know how I’m going to finish…) there will plenty for me in the next coming days.
Decorate Your Space
You need to have a place to show your work. I don’t care if it’s your kitchen, your dining room table, or that small table in the corner of your room, make it your Valentine’s Day show room space. I have this table cabin in my place that is between my living room and dining area. This is really the space where I decorate for several holidays. I have fun putting this area together and showing off my project (I felt like it was 8th grade science project). I did what I can do on a budget.
Movie For One
Don’t forget to grab a movie! Hit Redbox for that new movie that you have been dying to see, or grab a DVD off your shelf that you haven’t seen in so long and enjoy your hard work. for me I really wanted to watch Pitch Perfect 3 but no luck finding it so I when into my DVD collection and watched Head Over Heels with Freddie Prince Jr in it. I haven’t seen this movie in like forever. Unless you are with friends, take out a board game and have fun.
Overall I had a nice time at home. Did I feel sad that I was alone? Sure anybody can, but knowing that you don’t have to be a mad lady on the one day of the year where everybody have hearts in their eyes. You decide how you should feel on this day. I got up after a nice sleep in, got all pretty in which everybody was asking was I going on a date [with myself] and just stayed inside after getting all that I needed for my Valentine’s/ Singlentine’s Day. It’s also a way that you can be yourself and learning how to be with yourself, and to love yourself. Nothing is wrong with you if you are solo on this day. You are perfect just the way you are….
