Prince Royce Five Concert Review

This is it! I did it! I got my cherry popped! I attended my first Latin concert. How do I feel? Well excited, nervous while trying to remember three and a half years of Spanish. Okay let’s get to the story at hand. I was fortunate enough to be invited to be a guest to the Prince Royce concert by a good friend name Mary Castro (President Joseph Castro wife of Fresno State). This was huge. I was invited along with a friend to be in a suite and everything. This was something totally and great opportunity to experience.

Of course, I said yes and I invited my soul sista Cindy with me. It was really VIP treatment with a private parking pass, suite only access, what else can you expect…oh and Prince Royce (no I didn’t get to meet him. Another day). Also, it really gets official when you get the tickets mailed to you by the highest office from your alma mater: The President Office
PRINCE ROYCE
I’ve only heard of Prince Royce because of his English album from two years ago and he did appear in four episodes of Season 4 of East Los High on Hulu. He does mainly Spanish music, but doesn’t shy away from the English songs. And he is down to earth (and no I didn’t get a picture with me -insert sad face-). I had to go and besides he is so fine! His smile alone is deadly.
THE SUITE LIFE
Like how I mention before, this was my first Latin concert, but not only that, my first time in a suite. I have never been in a suite. I’m used to being in front row, fighting for my favorite artist attention or a hand touch. The suite was amazing. I wished that I have taken pictures. Now my writing skills of imagination will kick in. So, we were in Suite 10 as you open the door (and when you close it) there is a private restroom in there straight ahead. As you make a left further into the room to your right there were two leather couches in there in an L shape and to the left a little kitchen with a mini fridge and above it a flat screen tv. As you turn back to face the center there were two bar tables and chairs. As you walk farther into the suite there is two rows of seats like a movie theater. It was amazing and the view was incredible. In the suite, we had food dessert and drinks! The suite was beautiful. Like I said I didn’t take any pictures. I loved everything about it and being this was my first time in a suite was amazing. Now I can say I ave been in one.
THE SHOW EXPERIENCE
Okay, trying to remember three and a half years of Spanish and binging Prince Royce album was crazy as hell. I feel like I was only African American person that was there. But I will say this, music is universal so it was great for me to step out of my confortzone and be able to experience something like this. The concert was amazing. We got there like towards the end of the opening act named Luis Coronel. We had a little intermission before Prince Royce got on. We got drinks, food and took a few pictures before the second half of the show start. I never had a time clock for a concert before and it was amazing. We started to freak out!
OneSelfers, he was so fine! Who do you think I was talking about, PRINCE ROYCE! I need to invest in a better camera for zooming. This man was doing it. He sang, threw roses into the audience and towels, and he even got into the crowd and was singing while taking a few selfies with fans. These selfies were amazing because he took there phone and did a selfies. So crazy and amazing at the same time. Prince Royce came out on a show and he is good live. He did a mix of with Spanish and English songs. He even sung X which features Zendaya on it from the Five album. My friend was like “You know this song?” and I was like “Yes because it has a mixed between Spanish and English in the song”. My friend helped me with a bump me to help me out with what Prince Royce would say in Spanish. Shoot he sound sexy in Spanish and English (Don’t tell Craig!). He even brought two girls on stage and it was amazing. If you haven’t watched my concert review it has all the details below! Also the band was amazing! I can’t forget about that! And there were confetti at the end of the whole show!!
FLY ON THE WALL
One thing that got me was that the roles were reverse in the weirdest way. I felt like the fly on the wall. I was like one of those retired concert goers who would watch the young generation going crazy over their favorite artist. I was sitting there going back to all my first at a concert. I would be thinking “I did everything from trying to catch things to touching their hand. Me just reliving that was amazing and happy for those fans who got to experience this for the first time. Amazing while enjoying at glass of wine!
ON TO THE “NEXT”
Overall, I would say if you haven’t been to a non English concert I would so recommend trying this. It was so out of my comfort zone and it was very enjoying. I hope I can attend another one in the future or many other language concerts. You never know what is “NEXT” on the music scene for me! Just keep waiting for that breaking news! Until next time OneSelfers
P.S.: I want to give a special thank you to the first lady of Fresno State Mary Castro for inviting me and being her guest along with my friend to see Prince Royce. It was a great experience and something that I will never forget!
