Better With You Tour Concert Review


BEST. CONCERT. EVER!!!

Those three words describe how I feel about this concert. This is the first Jesse McCartney concert that I have ever attended in my life. PERIOD! Jesse has been a part of my children from day one. Like seriously, I was there with Dream Street. I was there when he was on All My Children and Summerland. I was there during the Disney Channel era which is debut album Beautiful Soul whole soundtrack was feature on every Disney Channel TV series including Disney Channel Original Movies (DCOM) and Disney Motion pictures. And by the way Jesse and I are 80s baby, 90s kids, which makes us 2 years a part in age which Jesse is the oldest.


MEET AND GREET​​

I had not only brought tickets to see Jesse, but I also did a little upgrade with my ticket for VIP. There are two different

packages for VIP with Jesse. Yes, OneSelfers, I love to go big and go home, but also on a budget no doubt. So went ahead and got the Gold Package. That package was $149.00 and with the $10 fee which came out to be $159.00. So for the VIP I was expecting it to be about 20 people at least, 25 max for this package. I was dead wrong. It felt like it was more than 50 people. I’ve never experience this type of VIP. I knew tickets were limited, but I wasn’t expecting the management to overbook VIP like they did. I felt like I couldn’t get at least 2 minutes with Jesse to tell him how I feel…okay what I meant was:

“Jesse, I’m a hug fan since day one. Thank you for making amazing music for our generation!”

But this happened:

“I’m Jesse,” while extended his right arm for the handshake.

“My name is Jazzman,” I said while doing the same. He has a nice hand grip. “Just like the song.”


That was my picture that you see here today. During the Meet and Greet Jesse performed three acoustic songs in a minute snippet: Just So You Know, Shake and Beautiful Soul. And just for the record, we sang all the song with Jesse. In between the song sets we had Q& A which someone ask my question about when the album was dropping. The EP is coming J MAC!!

OPENING ACT(S)

There were two opening acts for tonight show. When I go to concerts, I don’t look up the artist that will be opening to see if how good they are. I rather see them for myself live. And I wasn’t disappointed either. These two groups are amazing! I got to see Just Seconds Apart and PUBLIC. These two trio groups are amazing with their pop and pop/rock sound with dynamite lyrics that will take you back to early 2000's boy and girl bands with a dash of 2018 on it. OneSelfers you don;t be disappointed with their music. Check them out!

How can I write about how amazing Jesse’s song set was? Jesse had a 19 set list of majorly his #1 hit song’s from four studio ​​albums, unreleased album, and singles. Out of the 19 song list, he introduced 4 new songs that he wrote. All four tracks are highlighted on the side bar in "black". Thank you to my side bar and cheat sheet. The song Wasted will be release as a second single towards the end of the summer following after Better With You single.

I feel as though I never get to be on stage. But somehow Tinkerbell from Disneyland got to be on stage. I can’t make this up. This girl was stuck us as hell. Now I understand Peter Pan movie as an adult. You are up there with damn Jesse McCartney…. freaking Terence from the Disney Fairy franchises (which she mention his character’s name). I’m good. I would have died if I was on that stage. LAWD!!!! I know Jesse has a girlfriend, but she needs to watch her back (just kidding...maybe...lol)

Jesse even got to perform his song Bleeding Love. If anybody knows, Jesse and Ryan Tedder (OneRepublic) wrote this song for his third studio album Departure which the record label didn’t want on his album. So Ryan heard from the grapevine that Simon Cowell was looking for a song for Leona Lewis [season 3 winner of The X-Factor] debut album. Tedder rearranged the song to fit Lewis voice and the song became a household name for her. Jesse rerecorded the song and has it as a bonus track on the International version of Departure. The song was amazing live!!!! YOU GO BOY!!


Every song took my back to my middle and high school days. Jesse took me on a time travel trip and I would never forget. He brought us high energy and even slowed it down with just his acoustic side. He even got on the piano himself. Lastly…we were not going to leave this concert without hearing the song that started his solo career. Yes, I’m talking about Beautiful Soul! We chanted! We even started a trend and got everybody to sing the chorus in the building! And that’s how you end your concert everybody.

Thank you Jesse for this amazing Better With You tour! Thank you for taking us down memory lane! I can't wait to get Wasted on iTunes when it drops at the end of the summer. ​​
