Ella Mai's Boo’d Up Tour Concert Review

There is so much that I can say about this concert. And yet I don't know where to begin. All I can say is Ella Mai is so gorgeous with out without makeup. She just has this natural glow period...okay let's get to the concert review!

Meet and Greet:

I was 10 minutes late. I kid you not. My first Uber driver was a mess. Why do I even do share rides anyways. When I get to

the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino and got to the box office, I was good because they haven’t let people yet. I wasn’t expecting it to be n CP time (as in Black People time and everything and everyone is running late). After the guy gave us instruction about how the meet and greet would go down, we finally got to meet Ella Mai. Ela British accent is so cute but so down to earth. This takes me back to the time when Craig David said my name while giving a shout out on IG. Lawd I would marry that man… back to Ella Mai. The meet and greet felt very short. I even forgot to tell her my name. It was like a “Hi, how are you” and she said “I’m doing good”. Picture. That’s it. And don’t get me started about how the person who was doing the pictures didn’t know how to take pictures on a cell phone. It was so far back and I think my eyes closed. OMG!!! We did get our sign photo and concert shirt ( not dates on the back).

Opening Act

What is an opening act? That is someone who opens up the show and gets the crowd excited and pumped for the main act to come on stage. Also you get to see how they show cast their work and see if you go and look up more of their music. Sometimes we may get a DJ who can drop some amazing joints to get the party started. But Ella Mai didn’t have an opening act. Vinyl took care of that and was the DJ. For 30 minutes. No announcements or anything.

Main Act: Ella Mai

Ella Mai came out on stage at 8:30pm and the party was on. Ella had an all men crew who was backing her up and was doing their thang from the drums to the keys. She sounds so amazing live! She mostly sung everything off of her all three of her Ep’s Time, Change and Ready. She even sung her new single Trip that will be off her debut album that she is working on.

She sung all of my favorites off the EP’s such as Naked, Breakfast in Bed, Found, A Thousand Times, etc. Her music is so inspiring. She talks about self-love and everything in between. I wished that she would have sung Talk To Me Part 2 off Craig David’s latest album Time Is Now, which you can buy. I even told one of my new friends that I started to listen to Ella Mai because of Craig David. All she said was “7 Day’s Craig David” and she started to sing the sing. Yes Born To Do It is a timeless album and major artist today look up to him such as Stanaj, Justin Bieber and Drake. So I’m giving this shout out to Craig for introducing me to Ella Mai!!! Ella even sang happy birthday to this little girl who just turned 9 years old today, and she even got to be on stage to sign and encore of Boo’d Up. It was so cute and amazing, I even had tears in my eyes.

I even met some amazing people at the end of the concert. I wished that I was hanging around them because my view in the front was not the business. Like seriously, if you check out any of my footage when they become available online I had this tall big head security guard blocking my way the entire time. Worst spot that I ever stood at…PERIOD! Like I understand that you have security, but be mindful of the people that are standing their trying to see the artist. Vinyl, you guys need to fix that in the future because he sure didn’t need to be there. Vinyl work on that in the future please, because The Roxy in L.A. don’t even do that.

Overall

I felt like I didn’t want the concert to end. Honestly I never left any venue at 9:30pm for any of my concerts that I have attended in my life. So this was a surprise for me. So did I get my money’s worth for $81 ($76 before taxes)? I did VIP, so I go everything that was listed on the side. So if my ticket GA ticket was $25, shirt $25, sign poster $10, lamented $6, and picture with Ella Mai $10. Sure, I did. Hopefully next time I when her debut album drops and she goes on tour again, it will on and the concert will last and hour and an half to two hours this time. Until next time OneSelfers!
