What a night to remember. I can’t believe that I got be the same room as Janet Jackson, with about everybody in Fresno. I’m so excited to bring you OneSelfers this concert review. I got to see JANET!!!!! AHHH!!!! Let’s get into the review.
Music:
Janet did that. The music selection she chosen for her tour was amazing. She centered her song choices base on her tour title [in my opinion] and her hit singles. She broke it down into a two part show (which included a 3 to 4 outfit changes) which included songs such as Nasty, Control Rhythm Nation, Escapade, If No Sleep, All For You, The Pleasure Principle, I Get Lonely, etc. Okay, the list goes on and on from up beat hits to slow ballots and back up to up tempo hits. You will enjoy the playlist.

Seeing Someone Expressing their OneSelf:
As readers and following on my social networks I want you to be able to express yourself and free doing it the things in your life. This was a humbling experiencing watching my aunt experience seeing Janet Jackson for the first time. She has loved Janet since she was in high school back in the 80’s. I just told her to live in the moment. You are seeing one of your favorite artist of al times. I caught a moment when she had her hand folder with her chin resting on it on it during Janet slow ballets. Those songs took her back into those moments all those years ago. I still remember seeing Chris Brown for the first time. Star struck. I’ve gotten better over the years with other artist.
Diversity of Dancers:
The dancers were amazing. I love how Janet has different dancers from al shape, sizes, ethic background. It was so amazing that she gave her dancers the floor to showcase their talents and gift to the world on the stage. I was a proud plus size blogger when I saw Allison representing us on that stage. I was screaming and jumping up and down when Allison was doing her thang. In my YouTube video [posted above] I talk highly about her. I’m glad janet her and the many other dancers representing everybody. Just to be clear even though this a my plus size blog everybody from any creed is allow to follow your girl and get inspire to express your authentic self.
Message In The Lyrics:
Music tells a story in the artist craft. In this case Janet used her platform, her stage, and her lyrics to tell a story during her concert. Just a reminder this is The State of The World tour. She touch on topics in her show including domestic violence and about taking control. Janet even stated, “This was me.” It’s just amazing how lyrics to a song change take you to a place and rely messages, from happy, sad, and in between. I believe some artist tell their story through the music they produced. I’m glad Janet was sharing on the tour that everybody has their own state of the world in their lives and that shapes and weaves into other lives.
Overall:
Overall, the concert was amazing. Janet still got it[ which it has never left]. She is 51 years old and she can still get down everybody. Mind you she had a baby over 8 months ago. Janet we see you. Also she can still sing. Yassss!!! Being this was my first Janet Jackson concert was great. My aunt was like, “She should have added Scream with Michael [him on the screen], but she might not have finish the set.” That would have be amazing, but I would have to agree [which that is the only song they record to my knowledge besides the duets they done with they were younger]. This was an amazing concert and worth every penny if you decide to go or if you already have tickets.
I know she is heading up to Vancouver, Canada for her next stop but she will be back in California between Oct. 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 8th for cities: Sacramento, Concord, San Diego and Los Angeles. And if you are not in California make sure you check her tour dates for a city near you. I still can’t believe I got to see her live!! Until next time OneSelfers.
