My First Paint Night
The wait is over! I still can’t believe that I attended my very first paint night. I was nervous, excited and 15 minutes late. But it was okay because we were just about to get started. It was okay, but let’s get into it.
What Is Paint Night?
Paint Night is a way to get people from all ages to inspire and connect creatively. Not only that but, it gives artist and entrepreneurs the opportunity the make a living while doing what they love: painting. Not only it’s a great way to EXPRESS yourself— One Self, but also a way to help put money back into the community for local paint night owners. They would host paint night at different restaurant so you can at least get something to eat and get your drink on.
My Experience
For my paint night, I got to paint a mermaid. I was excited but nervous at the same time because I haven’t painted since I was in middle school. What they do is they give you all paint colors needed, paint brushes and with a stencil canvas of the picture you will be painting. My paint night was hosted at Casa de Tamales in downtown on Fulton Mall (which is almost completed for its grand reopened). The most amazing thing is that it was a beautiful night outside with an amazing breeze with all this hot weather in town.
I got to meet people and sit and have fun. We help each other and we really got to go at our own pace. Also, we had waitress who got to refill our drinks whoever got bottomless sangria for $8. I was in heaven and found a new wine to enjoy. The best part about it is that they get their wine through Fresno State Gibson Farm Market. I’m so picking up some up in the future.
Overall, I got to have so much fun. I got be in a creative mindset and free without caring what is happening in the real world. This experience had me tap into my own creative side. Since I do work two jobs, it helped me be free and be open and care free. They had the ideal picture but, like other and myself we took a different idea on what a mermaid looks like. I got to see very different variations of what type of mermaid, there can be. I will be doing this again. The best part is, that I will be donating this piece of art to a little girl. She actually love mermaids as much as I do and she is like 6 or 7 years old.
Doing Things On Your Own
I also did it alone. I’m not going to lie, it feels weird doing things alone, but you have to learn to do things on your own to appreciate that time. Also, I did get to meet people and we did help each other with each section of paint night. It was great. The music was everything and everybody had a different type of mermaid. When I take a look at my painting it gives me so much joy that I created this beauty. I’m glad that I decided to do this. Like I mention, I’m going to be doing this again and I found my next paint night picture. I can’t wait.
How To Sign Up For A Paint Night
If you want to enjoy a Paint Night, either with a group of friends, family, couples or solo, then get out there and do it. You can always search for a paint night in your local area. I paid $30 for mines and that included all the paint material and apron. Each paint night place can be different depending on price. I would say it is all worth every penny. Go out there and get on Google and search today. I really want to thank Paint The Night for hosting this night for mythical creatures! Can’t wait to do this again.
